FORMATION
Those seeking to be professed religious sisters...
The Sisters of Hope welcome single, married, divorced, or widowed women age 18 years old and up from jurisdictions or denominations in the ancient tradition of apostolic succession (i.e. Anglican, Roman Catholic, etc.) who are in full agreeance with our bylaws.
“…do not grant newcomers to the monastic life an easy
entry, but as the Apostle says, ‘Test the spirits to see if they
are from God’ (1 John 4:1)…”
Our spiritual formation is for those who are seeking a deeper relationship with God through
prayer, contemplation, service, and hospitality utilizing the Order's Rule of Life as the guide
to their life. As a constant and continual process of the Holy Spirit shaping us into the likeness
of Christ, the spiritual formation can be seen in the movement from aspirant toward
solemn vowed. This process, including prayer, contemplation, and teaching takes
approximately four years.
"Before all things, dearly beloved brothers, love God and then your neighbor, because these were the first commandments given to us." ~ Rule of Saint Augustine
If you believe you are being called to monastic life, please feel free to contact the Sisters of Hope leadership or apply online, here.
Prayer for Vocations
Lord, in baptism You called me by name and made
me a member of Your people, the Church. Be with
me as I choose each day to show Your presence in
our world. Give me the courage and generosity to
respond to Your love, to Your call. Help all Your
people to know their vocation in life, and to respond
by living a life of holiness. Send Your Spirit to
guide and strengthen me that I may serve your
people following the example of Your Son Jesus
Christ. We ask this in the name of the Father, and
of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
